Contract Drafter (AutoCAD/Revit): Develop detailed plans, elevations, FF&E layouts, and visual presentations for VA healthcare facilities with an accent on compliance with VA TIL standards, building codes, and site conditions. Focus on interpreting architectural drawings, managing documentation across platforms, resolving inaccuracies, and supporting project planning including move scenarios and schedules.

Onsite in Long Beach, CA. US Citizenship required. Relocation allowance not provided. Available for meetings, deadlines, and travel as needed.

What you will do

• Develop detailed plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and visual presentations using AutoCAD, Revit, and ZLink.
• Create FF&E layouts incorporating building systems, materials, traffic flow, and code requirements.
• Review drawings for compliance with VA TIL standards and applicable codes.
• Maintain Drawing Room organization and update drawing files across platforms.
• Resolve drawing inaccuracies by coordinating with architects and leadership.
• Document moves, renovations, and as-built conditions.
• Support project planning with move scenarios, schedules, meetings, and progress reporting.

Requirements

• US Citizenship
• Associate’s degree in Engineering Drafting or related (Bachelor’s preferred), or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years commercial drafting experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (minimum 3 years each)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read, interpret, produce construction drawings and perform site measurements
• Knowledge of healthcare design, building systems, fire/life safety, accessibility codes
• Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience on healthcare or federal/VA projects
• Familiarity with VA TIL standards
• Experience with ZLink or similar tools
• Knowledge of FF&E planning
• LEED certification
• Experience with large campuses or Microsoft Project/Teams
