What you will do

• Support learning and teaching activities within Engineering labs and workshops.
• Set up, demonstrate, and maintain a wide range of experimental rigs, tools, and teaching equipment.
• Provide technical advice, troubleshooting, and guidance to students and academic staff.
• Uphold a strong health & safety culture, including maintaining risk assessments, COSHH documentation, and PAT testing records.
• Manage laboratory consumables, equipment inventories, and procurement processes.
• Contribute to accreditation audits, lab upgrades, and prospective student events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant technical experience in an industrial or higher education environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and techniques.
• Proficiency with specialist engineering software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Right to Work verification and pre-employment criminal record checks are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or membership of a professional institution (e.g., IMechE, IET).
• Experience supporting students or apprentices in an educational setting.
• Experience developing training materials or laboratory documentation.
