What you will do

• Design and build backend services that support derivatives trading, including order processing and execution workflows.
• Optimize system latency and throughput by analyzing and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain systems supporting trading accuracy, data consistency, and risk-related processes.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and security teams to support new contract launches and platform expansion.
• Monitor system performance and reliability using metrics to guide stability and data integrity improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building backend systems in production environments.
• Experience designing systems requiring low latency and high throughput.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS services.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Background in trading systems or other critical distributed systems where reliability is essential.
• Knowledge of crypto derivatives markets and the trading lifecycle of perpetual futures.
• Must be based in Toronto and able to work from the office at least 3 days per week.
