Senior Analytics Engineering Manager (Data Engineering)

Location: US Remote. Participation in in-person trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and team-building events may be required.

Salary: $204,000–$301,000 annualized, potentially higher based on proficiency and geographic location.

What you will do

• Define the Analytics Engineering vision and deliver curated datasets, dashboards, and internal data products.
• Establish standards for metrics, semantic layers, data governance, documentation, SLAs, and data quality.
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing analytics engineering team.
• Partner with data science, finance, marketing, sales, product, and engineering to prioritize the roadmap and define measurable outcomes.
• Scale data self-service and literacy through documentation, training, and enablement.
• Guide ETL/ELT architecture, operational excellence, code review, version control, monitoring, and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or analytics.
• Strong hands-on SQL, Python, and data modeling expertise.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Experience defining semantic layers, building scalable dashboards, and selecting, configuring, and governing BI tools such as Looker.
• Experience operating ETL/ELT pipelines with robust validation, monitoring, and high data quality standards.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track record of delivering projects and measurable outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with consumer products, user-generated content, and ad-supported business models.
• Experience with GitHub or other version-controlled code and Python scripting.
• Experience with agile or Kanban workflows.
