What you will do

  • Design and maintain the automated rendering pipeline for scene assembly, lighting, and output validation.
  • Build and manage headless Blender Cycles configurations using OptiX/CUDA GPU acceleration.
  • Systematize master lighting templates to ensure consistent look development across all assets.
  • Manage render farm infrastructure, including job distribution and cost monitoring on AWS/GCP or local farms.
  • Develop automated post-render validation systems for exposure, clipping, and resolution compliance.
  • Create Python tooling to integrate the render pipeline with broader production systems and ingest queues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in rendering, look development, or lighting pipeline engineering in games or VFX.
  • Deep expertise in Blender Cycles or equivalent path-tracing renderers (Arnold, V-Ray).
  • Strong Python scripting skills, specifically for automating rendering workflows and using the Blender API.
  • Proven experience with GPU rendering infrastructure (CUDA, OptiX) and multi-GPU/cloud setups.
  • Strong understanding of PBR materials, lighting principles, and technical image evaluation.
  • Experience building batch processing systems for rendering thousands of assets.

Nice to have

  • Specific production experience with headless Blender Cycles and Python-driven scene construction.
  • Experience with render farm management tools like Deadline or Flamenco.
  • Background in look development or lighting for games or film.
  • Experience with automated image analysis and perceptual quality metrics.
