What you will do

• Lead regulatory and compliance alignment for virtual controls across global regions, including NHTSA and Euro NCAP.
• Define safety performance requirements, interaction depth, and behavior in degraded states for virtual button implementations.
• Establish a repeatable risk framework based on driver workload, human factors, and regulatory exposure.
• Develop and manage engineering projects to ensure safety requirements are embedded and traceable in PRDs and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with Human Factors and UX teams to define test coverage, conduct simulator studies, and validate HMI changes.
• Benchmark competitor approaches and monitor field performance to update safety patterns and design guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, or Human-Computer Interaction.
• 4+ years of related experience in in-vehicle HMI/UX or safety-critical systems.
• Thorough knowledge of driver performance studies, global regulations, and consumer metrics for distraction.
• No immigration sponsorship provided; must have legal authorization to work in the US.
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.

Nice to have

• Master's or Ph.D. in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, or Cognitive Science.
• Exposure to type approval, NCAP, or regulatory engagement on control layout.
• Programming proficiency and ability to use AI-assisted tools for code refinement.
• DFSS Black Belt Certification.
