What you will do

• Prepare, edit, and rewrite comprehensive copy in both English and Japanese with minimal supervision.
• Correct errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax while aligning content with relevant style guides.
• Adapt tone and complexity of pieces to effectively reach the target audience.
• Fact-check all dates, names, statistics, and facts to ensure total accuracy.
• Optimize the structure and flow of content for better readability and impact.
• Act as the final stamp of approval for all assigned client copy and implement feedback.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience creating and editing content for both Japanese and English-speaking brands.
• 2-3 years of experience in an editor role at a digital publication, reputable news site, or agency.
• Strong proficiency in AP style and experience writing for the web (long-form guides, infographics, reports).
• Extensive knowledge of niche topics within health, legal, finance, and/or tech industries.
• Ability to work independently and maintain productive relationships in a remote environment.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.

Nice to have

• 4-year degree in Japanese, English, journalism, or a related field.
• Intermediary SEO knowledge and experience with SEO tools.
• Experience collaborating with design teams on UX and design best practices.
