What you will do

• Own design and delivery of scalable backend systems across the payment lifecycle
• Drive architectural decisions towards event-driven and distributed designs
• Lead complex technical initiatives from discovery to production and iteration
• Champion engineering excellence with TDD, CI/CD, and continuous delivery
• Mentor engineers through pairing, feedback, and knowledge sharing
• Identify and address system, process, and scalability challenges

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience with strong PHP expertise
• Proven track record designing and scaling distributed systems in production
• Deep experience with APIs, data storage (PostgreSQL, Redis), and messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)
• Strong understanding of cloud-native systems and infrastructure (Kubernetes, containers)
• Solid architectural knowledge (microservices, event-driven, hexagonal) applied pragmatically
• High ownership mindset to lead, mentor, and influence technical direction
