What you will do

• Develop architecture blueprints and technology roadmaps for system modernization across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure.
• Analyze existing systems and design integration strategies for seamless data sharing with legacy and external databases.
• Select technology stacks emphasizing modular design and recommend cloud or hybrid solutions for scalability and high availability.
• Ensure adherence to security standards like NIST and FedRAMP, including identity management and data encryption.
• Define API standards and provide technical oversight during implementation, reviewing designs and guiding teams.
• Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and designers to align technical solutions with business and user needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related; 10+ years in software development/architecture, 5+ as solutions/lead architect
• Experience with enterprise-scale systems in regulated industries like government.
• Deep knowledge of architecture principles, integration (RESTful APIs, ETL), and security frameworks (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP).
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database design (SQL/NoSQL).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Government permitting/licensing systems experience.
• TOGAF/FEAF frameworks, AWS/Azure/Google certifications, DevSecOps, Kubernetes.
• AI/ML, RPA, GIS integrations in government context; Section 508/WCAG accessibility.
• State procurement knowledge and public sector consulting.
