What you will do

• Design, develop, and test embedded firmware and software for quantum control and readout systems.
• Develop and extend automated testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Collaborate with FPGA designers to diagnose and resolve timing mismatches, interrupts, and cross-boundary bugs.
• Validate FPGA builds by creating firmware-side drivers and data-capture tools.
• Refactor legacy C firmware to improve reliability and maintainability.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams in Engineering and Software Development.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded environments.
• Familiarity with VHDL/Verilog for understanding module interfaces.
• Strong understanding of digital logic, timing concepts, and low-level interfaces.
• Experience with FPGA register maps and communication protocols.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or higher in a related discipline.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDRx, Ethernet, SERDES).
• Linux device driver development experience.
• Experience with CI pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins).
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD.
