TL;DR

Sr SW Engineer, Legal Reports (Fintech): Development and maintenance of scalable services for generating regulatory banking reports using Golang, SQL, Spark/Databricks, and Trino/Superset on AWS infrastructure. Focus on designing robust testing strategies for distributed systems, implementing infrastructure as code with Terraform, and ensuring observability, performance, and reliability through monitoring and incident response.

Remote position. You must be based in Brazil. May require presence at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain scalable Golang services and cloud-native technologies deployed on AWS.
• Participate in full software lifecycle: planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Lead testing strategies for business logic and distributed systems reliability.
• Mentor engineers via code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and monitor systems using logs, metrics, and tracing.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and contribute to architecture decisions.

Requirements

• Based in Brazil.
• English proficiency at B1 level or above.
• 5+ years as Software Engineer in production environments.
• Strong Golang experience, Git, debugging distributed systems, code reviews, and testing (unit, integration, performance, E2E).
• API design (Swagger/OpenAPI), microservices, AWS (SQS, SNS, S3, Lambda), IaC (Terraform), Docker, Kubernetes, relational DBs (MySQL/PostgreSQL), CI/CD, GitOps, observability.

Nice to have

• Experience with mission-critical systems, cloud cost optimization, Grafana/Honeycomb.
• AWS certifications, AI-assisted tools (Copilot, GPT, Claude).
• 3+ years with Bachelor’s or 2+ with advanced degree.
