Payroll Specialist

TL;DR

Payroll Specialist: Prepares payroll inputs for vendors, maintains employee master data, resolves issues, and ensures accurate payments and compliance with an accent on audits, financial reporting, and process improvements. Focus on supporting global stakeholders, lean methodologies, and collaboration with Finance, Legal, and Tax teams.

Location: Hybrid in Penang, Malaysia (split time between on-site at assigned hirify.global site and off-site)

What you will do

• Prepare and send payroll inputs to vendors for compensation calculations and handle special exception items.
• Maintain employee master data, produce payroll reports, and ensure accurate wages and benefits payments.
• Resolve payroll issues, respond to employee inquiries, and document processes.
• Conduct audits of payroll records and prepare general ledger interfaces and month-end reports for Finance.
• Monitor processes, escalate excursions, and recommend improvements using lean methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external government requirements, collaborating with other disciplines.

Requirements

• Proficient in English (written and verbal) to support global and regional stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; payroll accounting, SOX, and automation experience advantageous
• Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure and odd hours
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
• Computer literacy and versatility in ambiguous situations
