Salary: $160,000 — $220,000 CAD

What you will do

• Shape the technical strategy and architecture of a greenfield VDC identity ecosystem, prioritizing open standards.
• Own architectural decisions for scalability, security, and platform integrity while mitigating technical risks.
• Manage production health, including incident response, root cause identification, and operational improvements.
• Drive the adoption of AI-native development practices to optimize how the team designs, reviews, and ships software.
• Partner with Product and Design to translate desired customer outcomes into technical deliverables.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise the overall technical bar across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Must be based in or have work authorization for Canada (Toronto).
• Deep expertise in building secure, enterprise-grade software using Java or Node.js.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript with the ability to contribute to the frontend.
• Strong experience designing and operating large-scale services on AWS.
• Solid understanding of web authentication and authorization fundamentals (JWT, OAuth).
• Proven ability to apply AI meaningfully across the full software development lifecycle.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity protocols such as OIDC4VP, OIDC4VCI, or W3C Verifiable Credentials.
• Practical knowledge of cryptography, including PKI, digital signatures, and hashing.
• Experience building and maintaining publicly released SDKs for external developers.
• Background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) tooling or blockchain technology.
• Experience working within "zero-to-one" startup-like environments.
