Technical Leader (Fire Protection Engineering)

Location: Antwerp, Gent, or Leuven, Belgium; willingness to travel within Belgium to client sites and between offices is required.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and deliver complex fire protection engineering solutions for major construction projects.
• Guide fire engineering professionals, supervise and train graduate engineers, and mentor colleagues.
• Lead discussions with design teams, building control authorities, and fire services.
• Manage project delivery, financial targets, technical reports, proposals, and commercial submissions.
• Build client relationships, identify new opportunities, and support growth in the building safety sector.
• Provide engineering support for fire protection system inspection, testing, and maintenance.

Requirements

• Background in fire engineering, preferably in a consultancy environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of fire protection engineering experience, including design review, inspections, and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of fire and life safety codes and standards, with the ability to work independently.
• Fluency in Dutch and English is essential.
• Ability to travel within Belgium to client sites and between offices.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of French.
