What you will do

• Prepare and review tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065), file payments, extensions, and ensure timely compliance.
• Monitor tax laws, handle sales/payroll/property taxes, and maintain compliance across multi-state requirements.
• Provide tax planning advice, optimize deductions/credits, and support international issues like transfer pricing or FBAR/FATCA.
• Prepare audit documentation, respond to notices, and maintain organized records.
• Collaborate with finance/accounting teams and external advisors during closes.
• Update SOPs and document tax positions.

Requirements

• 3+ years in tax preparation and compliance
• Proficiency with tax software (UltraTax, ProSeries, Drake, Lacerte or equivalent)
• Familiarity with IRS e-filing and state portals
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets for reconciliations and reporting
• Deep knowledge of U.S. tax codes
• Analytical skills, organization, and clear communication under deadlines

Nice to have

• CPA, EA, or Master’s in Taxation
• Multi-state and international tax experience
• Background in professional services, SaaS, or real estate
• Tax planning for high-net-worth individuals or closely held businesses
