TL;DR

RTR Intern: Supporting General Ledger Accountants in preparation of Monthly Accounts compliant with USGAAP and Statutory GAAP, ensuring Financial Statements accurately reflect company business. Focus on performing journal entries, maintaining supporting documentation, and executing internal controls in compliance with SOX requirements.

Location: Hybrid - Remote/Onsite in Mindelo, Porto, Portugal

What you will do

• Support General Ledger Accountants in preparing Monthly Accounts per USGAAP, Statutory GAAP, and company procedures within set timelines.
• Ensure Financial Statements provide a true and fair view of the company’s business.
• Handle necessary journal entries and verify all supporting documentation is in place.
• Perform internal controls compliant with SOX requirements.
• Assist with other tasks as required by the Record to Report Manager.

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, preferably advanced Excel (Pivot Tables/Macros).
• Organized, motivated, professional with strong analytical skills.
• Independent, proactive with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and solve problems at all levels.
