What you will do
- Design and execute power measurement setups using lab equipment like bench supplies, power analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Profile and optimize Android power consumption across idle, steady state, and peak usage, tuning Power Manager, wake locks, Thermal HAL, CPU/GPU scaling, suspend/resume, and idle behaviors.
- Debug and enhance power-related behavior in Android Framework, HAL layers, Linux kernel, device drivers, and coordinate with embedded firmware teams.
- Correlate electrical measurements with system logs using Android/Linux tools like ADB, dumpsys, systrace, and create automation scripts for characterization.
- Collaborate with hardware, silicon, and platform teams on power architecture, design best practices, and support investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related.
- 7+ years in Android system software, embedded Linux, or firmware development.
- Strong experience with Android power management, battery/thermal frameworks, Linux kernel power fundamentals, and SoC power considerations.
- Hands-on with power measurement lab setups for embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ across kernel and user space, strong debugging and analytical skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Qualcomm power-measurement framework or mobile/embedded SoCs.
- Embedded firmware background (MCU, bare metal, RTOS).
- Familiarity with PCB schematics and power delivery.
- Experience supporting factory/lab power characterization.
