Total Cash Compensation: $100,000 - $160,000 (NYC: $125,000 - $200,000)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end design, implementation, deployment, and observability of new features.
• Collaborate with product managers, AI engineers, and data scientists to integrate conversational intelligence into voice experiences.
• Integrate with Twilio, AWS, Azure, and internal APIs for call routing, speech processing, and response flows.
• Optimize system performance, latency, and reliability in distributed, event-driven stacks.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and shape team best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and on-call rotations for production stability.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Deep experience with AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, ECS/Fargate).
• Hands-on experience with Twilio Voice, Programmable Voice APIs, or similar telephony/IVR platforms.
• Skilled in designing RESTful and event-driven APIs (WebSockets, SNS/SQS, Kafka/Redis Streams a plus).
• Proficient with CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
• Strong commitment to automated testing (unit, integration, load).
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry) and relational databases/SQL.

Nice to have

• Experience with speech recognition, text-to-speech, or LLM-based conversational AI.
• Familiarity with frameworks for real-time voice/multimodal AI agents (Pipecat, Livekit).
• Understanding of serverless architectures and event-driven systems.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, AWS CDK).
• Familiarity with React, Next.js for internal tools.
