What you will do

• Develop and improve features for the software components of the storage stack to enhance efficiency and stability.
• Design and implement new kernel drivers from conceptual design through to deployment.
• Prepare in-house components for open-sourcing and submission to the mainline kernel.
• Contribute to upstream kernel drivers (RNBD/RTRS, block layer, RDMA) and participate in mailing-list discussions.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery through documentation and industry-proven development processes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in Kernel/OS development.
• Deep knowledge of Linux operating system internals and kernel development environments.
• Excellent proficiency in C programming and debugging.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash.
• Practical experience with the kernel block layer, distributed block devices, RAID-based replication, or RDMA programming.
• Must be based in or able to work from Berlin, Germany (Hybrid model).

Nice to have

• Proven track record of contributions to the upstream Linux kernel.
• Experience designing algorithms for performance and reliability optimization.
• Knowledge of Go programming language.
