What you will do

• Define domain-specific success metrics, SOPs, and QA rubrics for ASL accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
• Review project outputs including annotations, transcriptions, and video labeling against technical standards.
• Perform structured QA passes, identify defects, and provide precise remediation notes to contractors.
• Vet ASL annotators and develop targeted training resources on glossing, classifiers, and non-manual markers.
• Advise on linguistic and cultural scoping during project setup and handle evolving specifications.
• Analyze defect trends and build trackers to surface insights that improve overall project outcomes.

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• 5+ years of professional experience in ASL interpretation, teaching, research, or linguistic annotation.
• Strong expertise in ASL linguistics, including glossing, classifiers, and regional variations.
• Fluency in spoken and written English with concise writing skills.
• Proven ability to set and enforce high linguistic and cultural standards.
• Experience producing technical documentation and annotation rubrics.
