What you will do

• Act as an expert on Defense, Military Affairs, and related geopolitical developments to improve AI models and relevant data sets.
• Monitor and analyze the quality of data feeds.
• Annotate and label complex real-time events and make real-time decisions with incomplete data.
• Own and develop projects to improve performance of AI models and AI tooling for real-time event detection.
• Collaborate with the team on daily priorities in a real-time information environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Defense/Strategic Studies, political science, security/conflict studies, or a closely related field strongly preferred.
• Strong online research skills to monitor and analyze data in a fast-paced environment in English.
• Understanding of geopolitical risk and world events.
• Ability to interpret and succinctly describe ongoing complex events with incomplete data.
• Fluency with AI tools and LLMs, including using them to solve problems and improve workflows.
• Ability to work core hours 8:00am–4:00pm AEST or 10:00am–6:00pm AEDT and perform rotational weekend work.
