What you will do
- Design and operate a Databricks medallion lakehouse architecture using Delta Live Ts for clinical and operational data.
- Architect scal AWS data pipelines using S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, and MSK/Kafka.
- Implement multi-country data isolation and governance leveraging Databricks Unity Catalog and Open Policy Agent.
- Develop and maintain FHIR-to-OMOP mapping pipelines to support clinical data interoperability.
- Optimize data platform performance, cost, and reliability for a healthcare platform serving 1M+ patients.
- Collaborate on real-time event-driven architectures integrating Kafka streaming with lakehouse layers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of data engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, DLT), AWS data services, Python, and PySpark.
- Experience with streaming and event-driven architectures using Kafka.
- Proven ability to implement data governance, lineage, and audit logging at enterprise scale.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK) and CI/CD pipelines.
- English: Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with healthcare data standards (FHIR, OMOP CDM, HL7, ICD-10).
- Experience supporting SOC 2 Type 2 or ISO 27001 certification readiness.
- Knowledge of multi-region data architectures and data sovereignty requirements.
- Familiarity with policy-as-code for data access and consent enforcement.
