Focus on designing quantum-resistant protocols, defining security requirements, and developing open-source reference implementations under resource constraints of avionics hardware.
Location: Delft, Netherlands (relocation support provided)
Salary: €3059–€3881 gross per month (increasing yearly) + holiday allowance and end-of-year bonus

What you will do
- Conduct security assessments of aviation CNS systems and analyze quantum threats to ADS-B, CPDLC, ACARS, VHF, and satellite communications.
- Design quantum-resistant cryptography protocols adapted for aviation applications with resource constraints.
- Define service and functional requirements for post-quantum secure ATM infrastructure.
- Develop open-source reference implementations and protocol blueprints.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity experts, aviation authorities, and industry partners on European PQC transition roadmap.
- Extend research with signal processing, simulations, and software-defined radio experiments.
Requirements
- MSc in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related
- Knowledge in cryptography, network security, or information security
- Knowledge of communication protocols and security architectures
- Knowledge of aviation systems (CNS, ATM) or strong motivation to learn
- Programming experience in Python, C/C++, or Rust
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent English communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience with cryptography
- Experience with software-defined radios
- Background in embedded systems, IoT security, or resource-constrained computing
- Contributions to open-source security projects
