What you will do

• Read and interpret blueprints to measure, mark, and cut wood using power saws, jointers, and other machinery.
• Assemble components with glue, nails, screws, and hardware like hinges and handles.
• Apply finishes such as stain, varnish, or paint, and perform sanding for smooth surfaces.
• Inspect parts for quality, fit, and defects throughout production.
• Estimate materials, match wood for consistency, and repair or alter products as needed.
• Confer with customers or designers and use CAD for custom wood product design.

Requirements

• Proven experience in woodworking and operating various woodworking machines.
• Ability to read blueprints, measure, cut, and assemble to exact specifications.
• Skills in finishing techniques like staining, painting, and lacquering.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving, mathematical skills for measurements.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Prior woodshop experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD for furniture design.
• Knowledge of Masonite, Formica, or vinyl surfacing materials.
• Experience programming machinery for automation.
