What you will do

• Design and improve payment and billing experiences to reduce customer friction and delight users.
• Develop subscription lifecycle systems, pricing logic, and invoicing pipelines.
• Integrate and maintain relationships with payment providers like Stripe, managing APIs and cost models.
• Build fault-tolerant distributed transactions with strong observability and reliability.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Support teams to align technical solutions with business requirements.
• Drive the evolution of billing capabilities to support new pricing models and growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping backend services to production.
• Ability to work across the full stack with a strong emphasis on backend architecture.
• Strong understanding of latency, observability, and testing strategies.
• Outcome-oriented mindset with the ability to decompose complex problems and drive them to completion.
• Comfortable with collaborative development practices, including pairing and mobbing.

Nice to have

• Domain experience in payments, billing, or subscriptions (e.g., Stripe).
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture, idempotency, and eventual consistency in distributed systems.
• Experience with infrastructure, monitoring, and operational excellence.
