What you will do
- Write efficient, maintainable code using Node.js and TypeScript, leveraging LLMs for speed and quality.
- Set the technical direction for the payments domain and drive solution design discussions.
- Develop and deploy applications across an event-driven AWS stack including Lambda, DynamoDB, and EventBridge.
- Collaborate with other Staff engineers and tech leads to maintain engineering standards and conduct code reviews.
- Identify and resolve technical debt and support Level 3 production issues.
- Mentor junior engineers to improve the overall technical capability of the team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial software development experience with recent, hands-on coding as a core part of the role.
- Extensive experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and React.js in production environments.
- Deep knowledge of AWS serverless and event-driven services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, EventBridge).
- Experience deploying infrastructure using AWS CDK.
- Ability to write technical design documentation such as RFCs and Architecture Decision Records.
- Strong operational maturity with a focus on observability and failure modes.
Nice to have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and configuration management.
- Exposure to container technologies such as Docker.
- Experience working with Design Language Systems.
