TL;DR
Principal Enterprise Architect (Cloud): Defining enterprise architecture strategies, standards, and roadmaps for modernising an international insurance organisation with an accent on cloud-based architectures, API-driven integration, and scalable governance. Focus on selecting technologies, guiding implementation teams, designing transition architectures, and aligning complex solutions with business objectives.
Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid working system

What you will do
- Set and maintain enterprise architecture strategy, standards, principles, and actionable modernisation roadmaps.
- Define technical standards and patterns for secure, scalable governance and operating models.
- Select technologies and design high-level architectures that meet business and technical requirements.
- Guide implementation teams and support projects and programmes with solution design, integration, transition architectures, and delivery alignment.
- Advise technical teams on performance, scalability, reliability, monitoring, and operational concerns across live platforms.
- Lead architecture governance, collaborate with Solution Architects and Designers, and manage engagement with vendors and consultancies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Solution Architecture or Enterprise Architecture, with senior stakeholder engagement and requirements prioritisation experience.
- Experience integrating cloud and SaaS applications, APIs, and legacy applications in digital, cloud, and API-driven environments.
- Experience evaluating and selecting technologies, including managing proofs of concept or technical spikes.
- Experience working in mixed-vendor, multi-cloud environments.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical topics to business and technical stakeholders in plain language.
- Experience with team management, coaching, mentoring, enterprise architecture domains, and cloud-based architectures; a degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with an Enterprise Architecture Framework such as TOGAF.
- Experience improving operational process efficiency through automation and process redesign.
- Experience with IT cost optimisation through enterprise application rationalisation programmes.
- Knowledge of build, deployment, change, and release processes and automation.
