Associate Software Engineer I (Fullstack eCommerce)

Hybrid role based in Leicester city centre office: 4 days onsite per week, 1 flexible work from home day.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain code for cloud-based SaaS applications using NextJS/React/Angular/Vue for frontend and Node.js/Typescript/PHP/Python/Go for backend.
• Write code and unit tests following company coding guidelines.
• Participate in Agile processes including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Debug and resolve software defects.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality software.
• Learn and apply best practices under senior guidance and document code.

Requirements

• Fluent English communication skills required.
• Good understanding of programming principles including data structures, OOP, and functional programming.
• Familiarity with at least one frontend framework (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Familiarity with at least one backend language (Node.js/Typescript, PHP, Python, or Go).
• Good understanding of relational/SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Good understanding of Git and exposure to Agile methodologies; basic cloud platforms knowledge.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants like ChatGPT/Copilot/Cursor.
