What you will do

• Research and design novel model architectures integrating academic literature, NLP, and symbolic reasoning.
• Build custom tokenizers for LaTeX symbols and physical units to improve scientific processing.
• Develop reinforcement learning loops to enable models to perform independent internal thought experiments.
• Automate scalable data ingestion pipelines for science literature, metadata, and experimental equations.
• Establish custom benchmarks to assess physical concepts, mathematical reasoning, and minimize hallucinations.
• Manage model training jobs and create evaluation frameworks to identify model patterns and blind spots.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven track record of conducting in-depth research on scientific AI/ML models or symbolic models.
• Deep familiarity with SOTA models and best practices in AI/ML model development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working in a remote, cross-functional, startup-style team.

Nice to have

• Experience with or strong interest in physics and fundamental science topics.
• Research experience in an early-stage or mission-focused environment.
