Cyber Security Officer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Cyber Security Officer (Cloud/Fintech): Providing security oversight and implementing security practices across cloud environments and managed services with an accent on incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance. Location: Hybrid in Sheffield or London (2 office days per week)

Salary: £55,000–£75,000 per annum

What you will do

• Monitor, identify, and resolve security incidents, documenting investigative activities in ticketing systems.
• Lead internal technical and compliance audits to ensure alignment with ISO27001 and internal security policies.
• Identify vulnerabilities across networks, OS, applications, and databases, providing remediation guidance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to advocate for and implement security best practices.
• Review changes in CAB to prevent the introduction of security weaknesses.
• Mentor junior analysts and produce security reports for customers.

Requirements

• Proven experience securing cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Background as a Cyber Security Officer within a large organization.
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools, networking technologies, and OS hardening (Windows, Linux, Solaris).
• Familiarity with cyber security threats and adversarial techniques.
• Must be based in the UK for hybrid office attendance in Sheffield or London.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or AWS certifications.
• Experience with Rapid 7 InsightVM and InsightIDR.
• Knowledge of UK financial sector regulations and bank IT operations.
