PWB Designer (Aerospace)

TL;DR

PWB Designer (Aerospace): Translation of requirements into schematics, netlists, PWB layouts, master patterns, 3D models, and detailed engineering drawings for flight controls and actuation systems with an accent on IPC, Space, Military, and Commercial standards. Focus on ensuring schematic and layout integrity, configuration management, and collaboration with Electrical, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Engineering.

Location: Onsite – Buffalo, NY. This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $65,000–$100,000 Annually

What you will do

• Translate requirements from various sources into schematics, netlists, PWB layouts, 3D/solid models, layouts, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Ensure integrity of schematics, PWB layouts, BOM, and manufacturing data meets design requirements in collaboration with engineering leads.
• Direct drafting personnel on tasks using hirify.global systems, procedures, and configuration control.
• Create and check detailed drawings for completeness, accuracy, and integration into PLM and ERP systems.
• Contribute to cost-effective designs by working with Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Suggest materials for non-critical situations to meet design needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Technology Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field, or Associates Degree in technical major + at least 2 years of PWB layout design and drafting experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, drafting practices, and spatial visualization.
• Above average understanding of electronic circuits, components, packaging, PWB/CCA materials, and IPC/Space/Military/Commercial standards.
• Advanced experience in schematic entry and PWB layout/routing.
• Desirable: OrCAD Schematic Entry, Cadence Allegro PWB layout, Siemens NX 3D MCAD or Solidworks, Teamcenter PLM.
• Knowledge of configuration management and prior Aerospace experience preferred.
