Key Individual - Derivatives & Crypto Asset Authorizations
About the Role
Key Individual role in South Africa for a regulated financial services firm. FSCA 1.13 derivatives qualification and/or crypto-asset authorization experience required. Full-time or part-time, hybrid or remote.
Requirements:
- Valid FSCA Key Individual (KI) status or eligibility to act as Key Individual under South African financial services regulation
- FSCA Category 1.13 (Derivatives) qualification - mandatory
- Experience with crypto-asset related authorizations under FSCA framework is a strong advantage
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Key Individual, Compliance Officer or senior regulatory role within a South African FSP
- Strong understanding of FAIS Act, FICA, and FSCA regulatory requirements
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
- Full-time or part-time engagement considered - remuneration adjusted accordingly
Responsibilities:
- Act as the designated Key Individual for the firm's FSP license under FSCA regulation
- Oversee and sign off on regulatory submissions, compliance reports, and license-related documentation
- Ensure ongoing compliance with FSCA requirements for derivatives and/or crypto-asset categories
- Liaise directly with FSCA on regulatory matters, audits, and license amendments
- Supervise representatives and ensure ongoing competency requirements are met
- Advise senior management on regulatory obligations and risk exposure
- Maintain fit and proper requirements at all times and ensure the firm does the same
