Senior Software Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Manufacturing): Designing, building, testing, and operating software solutions for logistics and manufacturing use cases including robots, AGVs, and automated equipment with an accent on hybrid infrastructure environments, SRE practices, and system integration. Focus on monitoring uptime, defining SLAs/SLOs, managing deployments at scale, and bridging digital product delivery with physical manufacturing systems.

Location: Hybrid in Richen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Willing to travel to manufacturing site in Richen whenever needed and within Germany and Austria for in-person team events.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and operate software solutions for logistics and manufacturing, including robots, AGVs, and semi-automated equipment.
• Manage complex software deployments in hybrid cloud and on-premise environments at scale.
• Apply SRE mindset to monitor, maintain, and improve software uptime, reliability, latency, and efficiency.
• Act as a bridge between digital product delivery and physical logistics/manufacturing systems.
• Define, monitor, and evolve SLAs/SLOs and KPIs like OEE for critical systems.
• Integrate and coordinate PLC, robots, and third-party manufacturing systems; deploy and troubleshoot during factory hours.

Requirements

• Experienced software engineer with background in manufacturing/logistics systems, SRE, or software operations.
• Practical experience in modern software development: infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines, QA, scaling.
• Operated large-scale systems in cloud and on-premise environments.
• Worked in companies with strong operational cultures, understanding impact of downtime.
• Proficient in Kotlin/SpringBoot, Kubernetes, Linux, PostgreSQL; monitoring/alerting; SLAs/SLOs.
• Willing to travel to manufacturing site in Richen whenever needed and to Germany/Austria for team events.

Nice to have

• Python/Bash scripting.
• Cloud operations experience, especially Azure.
