Director, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting (US GAAP): Lead technical accounting function for high-growth SaaS company with an accent on revenue recognition under ASC 606 and complex contract accounting. Location: On-site in Boston, MA. Must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston office.

Salary: $165,000 - $205,000 USD base (plus equity and benefits).

What you will do

• Serve as expert on complex US GAAP matters like revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock compensation (ASC 718), leases (ASC 842), and business combinations (ASC 805).
• Lead assessment of revenue arrangements, performance obligations, and complex contracts with Legal, FP&A, and cross-functional teams.
• Research, document, and implement accounting policies for new transactions and evolving standards.
• Monitor GAAP/SEC changes, update policies, and drive implementation across the organization.
• Partner with auditors on reviews/audits and deliver training on technical accounting to finance teams.
• Improve accounting processes with technology and AI-driven automation.

Requirements

• 10+ years progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and technical roles at high-growth tech/SaaS; international and public company experience required.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA required; Master’s/MBA preferred.
• Deep hands-on US GAAP expertise, especially ASC 606 revenue recognition and other key areas.
• Proven research, documentation, and presentation of complex accounting positions to leadership/auditors.
• Experience with ERP (Oracle, NetSuite), large data sets, and strong communication skills.
• Alignment with US work eligibility (E-Verify).
