TL;DR

Game Economy Designer (GaaS): Design and optimize economic balancing of game loop and progression systems with an accent on sources, sinks, quests, events, rewards, and monetization. Focus on providing data-driven simulations, analysis of balancing scenarios, and quick reactions to live player data.

Location: Office-based in Paris (France), Quebec City (Canada), Da Nang (Vietnam), or Sofia (Bulgaria)

What you will do

  • Design and optimize economic balancing for all game loop and progression systems, implementing via configuration parameters.
  • Run data-driven simulations and analysis for balancing scenarios, calculating ideal parameters and reacting to live player data.
  • Revamp tools like Excel sheets for configuring and balancing the game.
  • Handle design, implementation, and balancing for systems including progression, economy, RPG, itemization, and events.
  • Collaborate with content, level design, art, animation, and gameplay programming teams.
  • Create and maintain documentation for balancing systems and tools; fix bugs and push for reworks as needed.

Requirements

  • Passionate about RPG and looter-shooter games, with in-depth knowledge of F2P and GaaS genres, mobile player behavior, and business models.
  • Shipped at least one game as economy or systems designer, with experience balancing economic systems (MMORPG/action-RPG/F2P GaaS a plus).
  • Strong numeric design, data manipulation, analytical skills; comfortable with complex Excel; translate analysis into design solutions.
  • Flexible, open to feedback, detail-oriented team player.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with The Division IP and passion for immersive game worlds.
