Senior Game Designer (UGC)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Design the UGC ecosystem to create meaningful, engaging, and sustainable player experiences.
• Work hands-on with Unreal Engine, scripting, modding, and prototyping tools to explore and validate ideas.
• Design game modes, cosmetics, creator tools, mode editors, and related player-facing features.
• Define the vision for UGC and modding experiences, including player and creator flows, systems, documentation, and design requirements.
• Balance player experience, project scope, and technical feasibility while translating creative needs into actionable requirements.
• Mentor other designers by encouraging experimentation, prototyping, and the use of UGC tools.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in the video game industry, including 4+ years in a game design role.
• Multidisciplinary experience across systems, gameplay, game modes, or player-facing features.
• Experience with modding and user-generated content, or Unreal Engine scripting with Blueprints.
• Experience in prototyping and hands-on use of game development tools or engines.
• Ability to clearly communicate design ideas and vision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in French and/or English, with strong collaboration skills.
