Location: On-site in Rosslyn/Arlington, VA. Night shift required (6pm-6:15am, 4 days on/4 days off). Secret clearance required.

What you will do

• Conduct open source monitoring and research to support overseas personnel, domestic offices, and protection details.
• Identify and communicate potential threats quickly and concisely using specialized tools and advanced search techniques.
• Create Boolean queries and algorithms for commercial tools to detect threats in social media, news, and forums.
• Review and assess accuracy, credibility, and relevance of open source information.
• Prepare preliminary referrals to law enforcement, protection, or intelligence groups.
• Provide technical advice on open source collection operations and assist in training module development.
• Support large-scale multi-national events as available.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree + 4 years relevant experience or 7 years without degree in advanced online research or investigative techniques
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to summarize information clearly
• Knowledge of internet-based research including Boolean logic
• Knowledge of machine language translation methods
• Demonstrated ability to learn new software
• Ability to establish liaison and interact effectively at all levels

Nice to have

• Knowledge of popular and fringe social media platforms
• Completed Open Source Intelligence or advanced internet research training
