TL;DR

International Treaties & Agreements Subject Matter Expert (SME): Provide advisory support on Air Force compliance with major international arms control treaties including New START, CWC, and NPT with an accent on policy development, strategic analysis, and implementation. Focus on monitoring DAF activities, identifying compliance issues, assessing impacts on programs and operations, and preparing executive materials for senior leadership.

Location: Full-time onsite in the National Capital Region, including the Pentagon and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, DC

What you will do

• Monitor Department of the Air Force activities related to treaties, providing historical context.
• Analyze treaty implications on DAF programs and operations, developing policy statements.
• Identify compliance issues and provide recommendations to leadership and Treaty Compliance Officers.
• Support policy development, compliance efforts, inspection readiness, and training programs.
• Assess impacts on acquisition programs and strategic planning.
• Conduct research and prepare briefings, talking points, and materials for senior engagements.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, national security studies, or similar
• 15+ years of experience in national security or related field
• Demonstrated knowledge of international treaties and agreements
• Experience with treaty implementation, compliance, and systems like ACES
• Understanding of Air Staff, Joint Staff, and OSD structures
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally

• Master’s degree in international relations, political science, or national security studies
