Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer (Databricks): Develop and maintain central data ecosystem, building scalable data products as single source of truth for 60+ sub-brands with an accent on ETL/ELT pipelines, data governance, and semantic layer for AI/ML. Focus on designing secure architectures, optimizing platforms, and collaborating with Analytics/ML teams on high-performance solutions.

Location: Fully Remote from Italy, Spain, UK, Greece, or Germany. Proof of right to work required in the country applied for; no relocation or visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Design and deliver scalable data products unifying data across 60+ sub-brands.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for massive structured/unstructured data.
• Lead data architecture design, modeling, orchestration, and observability best practices.
• Implement data governance, lineage, metadata, and quality controls for AI/ML.
• Collaborate with Analytics, ML, AI teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Optimize data platforms, manage indexing, queries, and schema evolution.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years in data engineering, preferably high-growth/multi-brand
• Deep experience with Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog)
• Expert SQL (optimization, indexing), data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake)
• Cloud (AWS/GCP), orchestration (Airflow/dbt), RDBMS (PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, data versioning, metadata management
• Advanced degree in CS/STEM
• Right to work in applied country; no sponsorship
