What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot 3 on GCP.
• Own the entire development lifecycle for new platform features, from technical design and requirement clarification to testing and deployment.
• Tackle challenging Shopify GraphQL API integrations and complex business logic in accounting and e-commerce domains.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production environments for performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor team members, and contribute to engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional backend experience with strong Java and Spring Boot skills; experience with AI coding tools and willingness to drive AI adoption.
• Structured mindset for breaking down complex problems, clarifying requirements, and designing clean solutions.
• Deep experience designing and consuming Shopify GraphQL APIs and third-party integrations.
• Hands-on cloud experience, preferably GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Run, PubSub).
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills; comfort with ambiguity.
• Strong collaboration; experience with Git, continuous deployment (Gitlab), agile practices, code reviews.

Nice to have

• Released an embedded Shopify App using Polaris.
• Experience in fast-paced SaaS environments.
• Domain knowledge in accounting or e-commerce.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL) or NoSQL.
