Location: Montreal bureau, onsite full-time with occasional shift work and travel

What you will do

• Write, edit and produce multimedia content for CP’s print, digital, broadcast and video services
• Report breaking news with speed and accuracy
• Monitor news outlets, social media and sources across Quebec
• Uncover news proactively from diverse sources

Requirements

• At least 3 years experience in a newsroom
• Bilingual in English and French
• Experience with digital publishing tools including video
• Strong news judgment, accuracy and fairness
• Self-starter able to work independently and in a team
• Ability to report and edit under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and information sourcing via phone, in-person, online and FOI laws
• Knowledge of Quebec politics, justice system and courts
• Proven use of social media for newsgathering
