What you will do

• Oversee Ontario news coverage across all platforms in collaboration with the Ontario news editor.
• Supervise and schedule reporters in Toronto head office and Queen’s Park.
• Coordinate with other bureaus, Managing Editor, sales, and marketing teams.
• Assign, edit stories, and ensure daily idea generation for short- and long-term projects.
• Liaise with media clients and represent CP professionally.
• Mentor staff, set goals, and manage team performance.

Requirements

• Strong journalism background with considerable management/supervision experience and deep knowledge of Ontario current events.
• Proven skills in digital tools for news gathering and multi-platform storytelling.
• Track record in breaking news coverage and basic media law knowledge.
• Ability to generate original ideas and adapt to client needs.
• Experience encouraging high performance across platforms.
