Electrical Engineer (Renewable Energy)

TL;DR

Electrical Engineer (High Voltage Power Systems): Lead electrical design across utility-scale renewable projects including HV systems up to and beyond 33kV with an accent on protection schemes, cable sizing, transformer selection and earthing design. What you will do

• Lead electrical design for utility-scale renewable projects, including HV systems up to 33kV+.
• Deliver key components like protection schemes, cable sizing, transformer selection, and earthing design.
• Manage full project lifecycle from early design to construction, commissioning, and energisation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors for buildable, compliant designs delivered at pace.
• Support grid connection design and interface with DNOs/TSOs.
• Solve technical challenges in a fast-moving delivery environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in electrical engineering, preferably in UK energy or infrastructure sector.
• Proven experience on projects with voltages up to at least 33kV.
• Familiarity with UK standards and grid requirements.
• Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects end-to-end.
• Strong experience in substation design, SCADA systems, fibre/communications networks.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it (IET preferred).

Nice to have

• Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS), power generation/stations, transmission/distribution, data centres, protection systems, power systems design.
