What you will do

• Work on a large existing PHP 8+ and Laravel system, making targeted changes and evaluating impacts
• Ensure stability and reliability of business-critical banking application
• Troubleshoot production issues and handle complex database logic/integrations
• Collaborate closely with backend and frontend teams in Agile environment
• Maintain quality via testing, code reviews, and engineering standards
• Gradually evolve and improve the long-running monolithic system

Requirements

• 3-5 years PHP experience in large-scale/legacy systems, ideally banking/finance
• Strong Laravel and Oracle database knowledge
• Experience with monoliths, foreign code, PHP ecosystem (Composer)
• Basic frontend (jQuery, vanilla JS, Latte templates)
• Relational DB expertise (transactions, joins, indexing, performance)
• System integrations (REST, Kafka, ActiveMQ)
• Testing (PHPUnit/PEST), static analysis (PHPStan)
• Fluent Czech or Slovak; Intermediate English

Nice to have

• Containerization (Docker), Jenkins CI/CD, Kubernetes
• LDAP and JWT authentication
