What you will do

• Architect and implement large-scale distributed data systems and pipelines.
• Drive technical decisions for both batch and streaming data solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and analysts to deliver customer-focused features.
• Integrate new orchestration and cloud-native tools to optimize system performance and scalability.
• Take end-to-end ownership of data systems from initial design to deployment and support.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct peer reviews to raise code quality across the team.

Requirements

• Experience designing and maintaining distributed data systems in cloud-based environments.
• Hands-on proficiency with big data frameworks such as Spark or Databricks.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to balance scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Must be based in or able to work from London on a hybrid basis.

Nice to have

• Experience with stream processing frameworks and event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong interest in crypto and blockchain technologies.
