Location: Must reside within or be willing to relocate to the hirify.global coverage area (Orlando, FL and surrounding counties).

Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 annually.

What you will do

• Research and write timely, investigative, and daily news stories for multiplatform distribution.
• Incorporate data analysis into compelling storytelling to produce impactful journalism.
• Cover education policies, school board decisions, and trends impacting students and teachers.
• Collaborate with internal and external resources to maintain a robust network of sources.
• Contribute to general assignment reporting and assist with special projects like podcasts or documentaries.
• Participate in on-air fundraising and potential fill-in hosting duties.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a multi-media producer or reporter.
• Must reside within or be willing to relocate to the Central Florida coverage area.
• Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, objectivity, and fairness.
• Proven ability to maintain high standards under deadline pressure.
• Experience building and maintaining a network of sources.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with editors and newsroom teams.

Nice to have

• Audio reporting experience and familiarity with Adobe Audition.
• Knowledge of Florida’s education system and policies.
• Experience with video editing software like Adobe Premiere or CapCut.
• Experience hosting local breaks or newscasts.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish, Haitian, Creole, or Portuguese).
