What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain an on-premise Kubernetes platform to ensure high availability and security for critical services.
• Establish and enforce Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management using Helm, Kustomize, or GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux).
• Develop and manage core infrastructure components including service mesh, ingress controllers, and secret management.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to the Kubernetes control plane, networking, and underlying server hardware/OS.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement security policies, network segmentation, and access controls.

Requirements

• Experience developing tools and services in Python or Go.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems and IaC technologies such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD best practices and build systems (Git, GitHub).
• Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience with server hardware, including rack-mounted servers and out-of-band management (iDRAC, iLO).
• Must be based in or be able to work onsite in Richmond, CA 1-2 days/week, including physical hardware installation and configuration.
