Azure Cloud Engineer (DevOps)

TL;DR

Azure Cloud Engineer (Azure/DevOps): Designing, implementing, and managing secure cloud solutions for federal IT environments with an accent on Azure infrastructure, automation, and security. Focus on developing Terraform IaC templates, optimizing AVD environments, and ensuring compliance with NIST, RMF, and FedRAMP standards.

Location: Hybrid, On-site 4 days/week in Washington, D.C. 20036 and 1 day Telework. U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret or higher clearance required.

What you will do

• Design and maintain Azure infrastructure including VMs, VNets, Storage, and PaaS services.
• Develop and manage Terraform templates as the primary IaC tool for infrastructure automation.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Deploy and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including host pools and FSLogix containers.
• Implement secure cloud practices aligned with NIST, RMF, and FedRAMP federal requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and security staff to support ongoing cloud modernization efforts.

Requirements

• Active Secret or higher clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC four days per week.
• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Systems Engineering.
• 3+ years of professional experience with Azure, CI/CD, Terraform, and GitLab.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with PowerShell scripting.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DoD or federal agency cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Experience with Azure serverless tools such as Functions, Logic Apps, and Event Grid.
• Knowledge of FinOps and cost optimization using Azure Cost Management.
