What you will do
- Contribute to the technical direction of the Perception Architecture team and the broader perception organization.
- Design and develop core machine learning components and architectures for complex, long-tail driving scenarios.
- Drive initial implementation and prototyping of key decisions, such as long-range detection.
- Improve model frameworks, architecture, and data pipelines to eliminate development bottlenecks.
- Lead technical topics and build consensus across sister teams to ensure autonomy-wide alignment.
Requirements
- BS (6+ years), MS (5+ years), or PhD (3+ years) in Robotics, Computer Vision, or Machine Learning.
- Extensive experience architecting and deploying deep learning models into safety-critical environments.
- Track record of driving applied research or engineering projects from conception to productization.
- Fluency in Python and hands-on experience with C++.
- Experience delivering detection, segmentation, tracking, or sensor fusion solutions for real-time robotics.
- Must meet U.S. national security requirements regarding residence, U.S. person status, and/or citizenship.
