What you will do

• Design and build custom electro-mechanical test rigs that simulate real-life usage and product stress.
• Develop science-backed test methods to evaluate performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Analyze large test data sets using statistical tools to uncover trends and drive engineering decisions.
• Conduct teardowns of Shark and competitor products to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in product development and quality to implement data-driven refinements.
• Troubleshoot failure modes and contribute to the continuous improvement of lab processes.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program, or graduated within the past year.
• Must be able to work a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA.
• Ability to develop and debug code in C++, Python, or similar languages to support automation frameworks.
• Proficiency with microcontrollers such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi for constructing test setups.
• Strong analytical and creative thinking for designing robust, repeatable test methods.
• Effective communication skills for delivering technical reports and cross-functional updates.
